The optical camera contains a high resolution imaging sensor, high speed processor, memory and lighting with a selection of lenses and optical filters available to operate in any workplace environment. The rugged high quality casing is sealed against dust and water and comes with an in-built heater for operation within freezers and coolers.

Connecting the Sky-Trax optical camera to any compatible vehicle mounted computer will transfer the labels information which can read two-dimensional Datamatrix barcodes and other symbologies. This information can then either be stored on the mobile computer or wirelessly transmitted to the warehouse management system (WMS) for real-time visibility of stock movements and workplace productivity.

A high intensity infrared LED lighting system allows for label reading in both low lit and sun-exposed environments with extreme temperatures ranges and condensation. This technology can in many cases provide a cost effective alternative to more expensive RFID solutions automate and streamline the data capture process in handling bulk goods.
