Moving this data from their native applications to a label has historically been difficult. Now, with LABELVIEW 6.0's powerful data management capabilities, the data-to-label operation is easily accomplished.
LABELVIEW 6.0 uses OLE Automation as a method of integrating applications. The LABELVIEW 6.0, OLE Automation server exposes its objects, methods, and properties to be controlled by other applications. Applications such as Visual Basic, Microsoft Access™ , Microsoft Excel™ , Delphi, C , or other programming languages can produce 'front end' applications that make label printing easier.
LABELVIEW's resident OLE Client feature allows you to either link or embed data into your label format. All with LABELVIEW's easy drag-and-drop functionality. Whether you choose to link or embed data is up to you. Either operation is simple with LABELVIEW 6.0.
If you choose to link data, the information on the label is updated as soon as the source file is updated. This flexible, just-in-time, functionality is ideal for applications where label needs change rapidly.
If you use LABELVIEW 6.0 to embed an object, the information embedded becomes part of the label and is no longer linked to the source data. This feature is designed for applications where source data is more consistent or where it is necessary to modify label data in an 'offline' situation.
Linking or embedding objects is easy. Simply double click on the linked or embedded objects and the LABELVIEW menu snaps to the source application for easy editing. Once the linked or embedded object is modified, the LABELVIEW 6.0 menus return.
The Code Converter feature allows you to import files from third party applications and prints them to any bar code printer. So, if you already have a bar code solution in place, LABELVIEW 6.0 adapts to you, not the reverse. Command Files makes printing to any bar code or Windows printer from an AS/400 mainframe or UNIX host is now simpler and faster. Send a simple text file or database file from any mainframe application and LABELVIEW will manage the printing automatically.
Command files are easy to generate from DOS, Windows, UNIX and legacy mainframe systems. Labeling software can then send print jobs to any connected printer, including different brands and models and add graphics or 2D bar codes.

Receive, format and use data from this source instantly to put required data into labels without keying. CommWatch can send required 'trigger' commands to devices, such as scales, and selectively use the data returned. Dozens of scales and scanners are predefined for instant connectivity.
DataWatch lets you monitor a file directory, whenever a database has records added to it, or a new database written to it by another host or application. LABELVIEW can then be configured to print appropriate labels; automatically and instantly. The easiest way ever to print bar codes from RF or batch data collection applications.
Visual Basic Builder allows LABELVIEW to export any label design screen to Visual Basic with one click of a mouse. This automatically creates a VB 4.0/5.0 form to simplify the process of customizing data entry screens with the enhanced logic.
LabelSelect lets you select a product database, which will automatically select the appropriate label format and printer while automatically filling in appropriate data fields—all without custom programming. Other label design software forces you to select a label format first, then enter the data.

SENTINEL PrintPack allows you to print labels created using LABELVIEW 6.0 on non-Windows™ platforms in multiple printer applications. Like LABELVIEW 6.0, SENTINEL runs on Windows 95/98 or NT. The printing solution consists of the data capture module (SENTINEL) and the print module (LABELVIEW Gold Run Time).
SENTINEL interprets the data created in any host application and routes this data to the proper field on the label. Since the print format is stored in the receiving station or server, no graphical information moves through the network that ensures maximum bandwidth conservation for other networked applications in your facility.
